Christian Irish Cross Tattoo
The Christian Irish cross tattoo, also known as the Celtic cross, has long been one of the more popular Western style tattoos. The Irish cross is quite unique when compared to more traditional crosses of European origin, as instead of the simple horizontal and vertical portion, there is also a circle that encompasses the center part where the two points meet. It is thought that this circle is of druid origin, and represents eternity, or the complete circle of life. There are many different ways to get this awesome tattoo inked on to your body. You can go with the simple black lines that form the cross, along with the circle, or you can stylize the cross to look like some of the extremely detailed and intricate Irish cross stone carvings, many of which are used for decoration, or as the crosses that adorn Irish Catholic churches. The stone carving styled crosses, usually are complete with Irish knot style designs in and around the cross body itself.
