Welcome to our frequently asked questions section. In this portion of our website, we will do our best to answer all of our user submitted questions. While the majority of the questions focus on the three Gaelic languages, some of them will also cover other areas, such as Irish, Scottish, or Manx culture and history. Beyond that, we will also answer specific question pertaining to our website and our web media company. We hope that you find this section informative and useful. If you find however that your question is not addressed here, then please send it to our staff by email, and we will do our best to answer it in a timely manner. It should also be noted that while we do publish user submitted questions, we only do so after we have received permission from the individual user. We do often publish the first name of the person who submitted it, however beyond that we will not disclose any personal or contact information.
Even though this section may eventually cover several translation based questions, we will not be using it to field a large amount of translation based questions. At the current time, our staff is completely inundated by English to Gaelic translation requests, and to even try to publish those results here on this web page would be impossible. We do make an effort to assist anyone with a translation request, however it should be noted that in the near future we plan to charge a small fee for each translation. The fee will be small enough to make the service affordable to everyone, while at the same time compensating our staff for the large amount of time and research that we put into making sure each translation is answered. At this time I'm not certain as to when the fee based system will come into place, as there will be some infrastructural changes to our website that will need to be built before the service is offered.
Just to quickly address another tangent of questions that we regularly receive, it should be noted that we do not offer any sort of Gaelic language courses or programs. While we may eventually decide to promote certain Gaelic study tools, we are not an academic institution of any kind, and we have neither the infrastructure nor the credentials required to offer any sort of paid study courses. What we have specifically discussed amongst our staff, is the idea of preparing an ebook guide for beginner's Gaelic, as that would be a great way to help our web visitors learn the basics about the language. If we do indeed offer this in the future, again it will have a small fee associated with it. If you are looking for an actual Gaelic language course that is being offered either on or offline, then I would suggest contacting the relevant academic institutions within your area. Irish Gaelic is taught around the globe, and courses are very accessible.
Finally the last area of questions that we regularly receive, which will is also likely not to be covered in this section, are Gaelic names related questions. Many of our web guests and visitors send us questions regarding Gaelic names, their spellings, meanings, origins, etc., and many of these questions are quite difficult to answer. So to address this growing volume of interest in the subject, we will be eventually launching a section of our website that will be solely dedicated to Gaelic names. We plan to list all the relevant information that you would need to know, as we realize this is particularly important to anyone considering a Gaelic baby name. This section should launch in the next several months, and although it will start quite small, we will regularly update and grow the Gaelic name database. We would like to thank you again for reading through this, and hope that all of your Gaelic questions are answered.
