Did you know that many of the recent Polish immigrants to Ireland have taken an interest in learning Irish Gaelic? According to an official government census conducted in 2006, there are roughly 64,000 Poles living in Ireland, however some have speculated that the actual figure may total over 200,000. In order to assimilate into Irish culture, many of these Poles have taken it upon themselves to learn Irish Gaelic. In Poland itself, a country of over 38 million people, there is a very large interest in learning Irish Gaelic amongst college level students. There are many private and university backed Irish courses available in some of the larger Polish cities such as Warsaw, Krakow, Torun, Gdynia, Gdansk, Lublin, and many others. From what I have noticed, almost all of these courses cater towards Irish Gaelic, and I have yet to see any for Scottish or Manx Gaelic. We hope that you enjoyed reading through this Irish Gaelic fact.
