Manx Gaelic Fact
Did you know that the Isle of Man is the birthplace of the Manx Gaelic language? The Isle of Man, also known as Mann, is an island situated in the Irish Sea between Ireland and Great Britain. Although the island is self governing, it is a dependant of the British Crown. Queen Elizabeth II is the current head of state for the island, and she also happens to hold the title known as Lord of Mann. Despite all of this, the Isle of Man is not part of the United Kingdom, although defense and the good governance of the island are a direct responsibility of the United Kingdom. With regard to the island's geography, it is actually quite a small island, covering just 575 square kilometers. The total population of the island is estimated to be just above eighty thousand inhabitants. We hope you enjoyed these quick facts about Manx Gaelic and the Isle of Man. Thanks for visiting us.
