What Is The Irish Gaelic Word For Love?
Tony out of Dallas Texas sent us the following often asked question. What is the Irish Gaelic word for love? The Irish Gaelic word for love is grá which is pronounced as graw. The Irish Gaelic word grá is quite prolific within Irish themed greeting cards, tattoos, posters, and calendars, so it's quite likely that you have cross paths with the word before either knowingly or unknowingly. With regard to the small accent over the letter "a" within the word grá, that is referred to in English as a fada. If you're curious to know what the word for love is in Scottish Gaelic, it's gaol. While many Scottish Gaelic words are very similar to their Irish Gaelic counterparts it is clearly not the case for the word love. We would like to thank Tony again for this excellent question.
